Does MMF give out grants?

MMF does not give out grants. In order to receive  grants, an organization generally must have 501(c)3 tax status, also known as ‘Non-profit tax status’.

How do I go about acquiring a loan through MMF?

Mountain Microenterprise Fund’s Loan Plus Program is characterized by two words: inclusive and flexibility. Our loan application process, though quite rigorous, is designed to approve your loan and include you in our “family”. We are flexible because once the loan is approved, we create terms, rates, and fees that accommodate your ability to pay. The Loan Plus Program is a member-based program, therefore, an active MMF Membership is required. For more information, contact your nearest MMF office.

What is the Foundations Business Planning course?

The Foundations Business Planning course is an 8-week business planning program aimed to help you create YOUR OWN business plan in a comfortable learning environment. The plan turns your dreams, experiences and skills into practical, doable steps for starting or expanding a business and running it profitably. What does the Foundations class cost?

The fee for the Foundations class is a sliding fee based on three factors:

1) Household Income;
2) Number of Persons in Household; and

The fees range from $75 – $350 for the 8 week course. Scholarships are available.

How do I sign up for the Foundations class?

Call your nearest MMF Office to set an appointment to register for the Foundations class. At this point, we will ask you which days and times work for you and tell you which classes are starting. Visit our Info Sessions page for your nearest office to set up an appointment.

Where are the Foundations classes offered?

Classes are offered in Asheville, Hendersonville, Sylva, Murphy, Brevard, Waynesville, Mars Hill, and Tryon. Classes are available in Spanish. To find out where and when classes are being offered, contact your nearest MMF Office. Visit our Info Sessions page for your nearest office.

When are new Foundations classes being offered?

What area does MMF serve?

Mountain Microenterprise Fund serves Western North Carolina small businesses. For information on microenterprise loans outside this area, contact your local Chamber of Commerce or area Community College. Visit our Contact page for your nearest office.
